Yerba Mate is harvested from a medium-sized tree of the Holly family grown wild and cultivated mainly in Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil. It's a sustainable harvest which in turn supports rainforest preservation and the conservation and protection of endangered species.

This single origin Argentinian mate, is quite smooth, but opens with a good amount of tart lemon that is a bit astringent. Citrus notes are prevalent, leaving a light finish. However, the mate becomes smoother as it begins to wash down and it is resteeped or rebrewed. It begins offering a rounder, more palatable, finish. At this point, you’ll begin tasting some toast, roasted nuts, hazelnut, and cinnamon. This mate stands on solid ground. It holds its own, for sure.

This is a good mate to have long conversations with, due to the flavorful washed taste that it offers upon your 2nd or 3rd cup. This is an excellent intro or beginner’s mate. Light on the palate and great for those that enjoy a citrus ting & zing! This mate is an all-day mate. You can drink it in the morning, afternoon, or evening and not have to worry about a thing.

Brew tips: Yerba Mate infuses much slower than tea or coffee. The temperature of the water may vary between 160 and 180 degrees. NEVER BOILING. Also you can and should brew the same leaves 3+ times as the brew will smooth out and you will taste different notes with each subsequent brew. Add about one tablespoon of yerba mate for every 12 oz of water, wet the leaves with lukewarm or cold water let it sit a few minutes then add hot water. You can just use the hot water for each brew after the first.

Ingredients: Premium Yerba Mate with Stems
