Once more unto the breach.
You may get the sense that in Age of Sigmar, epic-looking models get to make epic-seeming actions on the battlefield, and you’d be right. As a miniatures game, this is as much about how it looks as how it plays. Two painted armies of these superb miniatures clashing on the table is an awesome sight, and the game rules try to reflect that in play.
Hence, they encourage a game full of big, cinematic moments. The brave hero, barreling into the foe and scattering them like ninepins. The huge beast, smashing through the ramparts, followed by a horde of cheering warriors. A wizard, calling down a lightning storm to deluge the enemy army with bolts of energy. Dice may battle with strategy for supremacy in Age of Sigmar and it’s sometimes frustrating, but the huge swings are all part and parcel of creating memorable tabletop moments to cherish.
