Gegründet von Massimiliano Sernissi (genannt Leone) mit seinen Töchtern Simona und Valentina, ist Leone eine der wichtigsten Restaurierungswerkstätten in Florenz, die von Sammlern, Antiquitätenhändlern und Museen besucht wird. Leone hat sich auch auf die Herstellung von Rahmen und Spiegeln spezialisiert, die in reiner Handarbeit mit den seit dem 14. Jahrhundert bekannten Techniken gefertigt und mit einer Gouache-Vergoldung in reinem Gold versehen werden. Die bedeutendsten Museen der Welt, darunter das MET in New York, die Uffizien in Florenz und die Eremitage in Sankt Petersburg, stellen Kunstwerke aus, die von Leone gerahmt oder restauriert wurden.
